KHK MMA fighters pay tribute to Sheikh Khalid

His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa’s support of MMA and tireless work in the sport continues to impact fighters from all over the world. After a historic Brave 23, the KHK MMA members went home with three wins, one draw and only one loss and the athletes have made sure to thank His Highness for his vision in creating the team, as well as providing fighters with the international platform to showcase their talents.
New Super Lightweight world champion Eldar Eldarov, the first representative from Bahrain to win a world title in mixed martial arts, paid tribute to Sheikh Khalid and to the whole KHK MMA team for their support in his pursuit of gold.
“I’m now a world champion in one of the biggest organizations in the world. Thank you to His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa for this honor. I promised I would bring this belt to Bahrain, and he will stay here, by God’s will”, said Eldar.

Another member of the KHK MMA team, Egypt’s Ahmed Amir, put on a valiant effort in his split draw with England’s Sam Patterson. After dominating the first round, “The Butcher” had issues with his resistance, but his heart never gave out and he snatched a draw against a rising prospect in Patterson. Amir has also expressed his gratitude for His Highness’ work in mixed martial arts and the difference it has made in his life.
“Thank you so much to His Highness for being a great leader and brother. He always has my back in all sorts of situations, win or lose, the bad before the good. He is always the first one to support me and give me wise advice. I’m proud and honored to be a part of the KHK MMA family”.
Aside from Eldarov, Jose Torres and Akhmed Magomedov were the other members victorious on Brave 23, while Ikram Aliskerov lost to Khamzat Chimaev.
