KHK MMA’s Eldar Eldarov Co-Headlines Brave CF 1

Under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Khalid Bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the first international Mixed Martial Arts promotion grounded in the Middle East (Brave Combat Federation) was born last week.

At the promotion’s first press conference which was held in Bahrain, “Brave 1”  was announced as the premier event to take place this September with a triggering headliner pitting middle eastern super star Mohamed Fakhreddine against Brazilian champion Thiago Vieira.

In its co-main event, KHK MMA (Shaikh Khalid Bin Hamad Al Khalifa MMA) Team professional fighter and Amateur team head coach Eldar Eldarov (7-1) will return as he takes on the Ireland’s Peter Queally (8-2) in a welterweight matchup.

One of the main pillars of KHK MMA team, Eldarov is on a six-fight winning streak and every win has come via submission. A natural Dagestani fighter with a grinding style, Eldarov has finished all of his opponents as he wears them down until he sinks in that perfectly timed submission.

“I can finish him, of course,” he said. “But I expect a tough fight from a very tough fighter, and I have trained to go the full distance if I need to.”

Eldarov added: “I’m looking to get in his face early, and try to get the fight finished early, as I always do. But who knows, he might not break as easily as my other opponents.”

Eldarov has not fought since 2015, where he flattened Tanner Sarceno with a left hook in the first round, before taking him down and sinking in the rear naked choke in the second. His inactivity is largely to do with his coaching commitments and the development of KHK MMA’s golden amateur boys.

However Eldarov will have his hands full in this fight, with the SBG trained Peter “The Showstopper” Queally (8-2), who is part of Ireland’s most famous gym, owned by coach John Kavanagh. Aside from Queally’s high profile training partners, such as UFC superstar Conor Mcgregor, he is a tricky opponent for anyone. He has an elusive style, often using his footwork and head movement to circle the ring, land some explosive combinations and then get out before his opponent has a chance to land a counter. The Showstopper has never been finished and is on a three-fight winning streak, carrying a wave of momentum as he gets ready for Brave event in Bahrain.

Brave 1 will take place at Khalifa Sports City in Manama, Bahrain and tickets can be purchased at Bravefights.com, and at Khalifa Sports City. For sponsorship and partnership inquiries please call +973 1663 1663.
