In an initiative that celebrates the charitable spirit of Ramadan, Mövenpick Hotel Bahrain invites the public to participate in ‘A Kilo of Kindness’. Launched by Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts, the campaign pairs generosity from the public with needs of the less fortunate.
The food-raising drive invites anyone to donate non-perishable food items by simply dropping supplies off at the hotel lobby during Ramadan from 6-30 June 2016. Mövenpick Hotel Bahrain is supporting The Palm Association- Feed a Family, the special charity that will benefit from the donated food.
Requested food items include:
- Canned food: tuna, soup, fruit, vegetables
- Dry food: rice, beans, oats, pasta, cereals, flour, powder milk, tea
- Non-glass packaged food: olive oil, canola oil, honey
- Baby food: milk formula, infant cereal
Palm Association- Feed a Family
The Palm Association was created to help people with the most basic of needs. The cornerstone of the association is their Feed-a-Family Programme. Sponsorship of the Feed-a-Family programme permits them to provide and distribute approximately 155 food parcels to the value of BD20 every month to impoverished Bahraini families. Each family, identified by a trusted community contacts to be facing difficult financial situations, survive on the bare minimum due to unforeseen or unfortunate circumstances such as the death of a spouse, loss of employment, divorce, accident, disability or illness. The provision of food boxes help to alleviate the burden. —
