The 2017 Bahrain Summer Festival’s schedule of world-class live events continues with Axel Matrod (aka El Gato Negro “The Black Cat”) on Monday evening (July 17) at the Cultural Hall. The French-born musician and seasoned street performer earned his stature as one of today’s leading Latin music artists thanks to his signature style which blends Latin rhythms with modern influences without abandoning the genre’s African roots and reggae flavors.

The concert is organized by the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) in collaboration with the French Embassy in Bahrain and Alliance Francaise. This concert is open to the public.

The annual festival will run until August 7, as a part of BACA’s “Our Year of Archaeology” year-long campaign aimed at highlighting the island’s unique archaeological assets and bolstering its position as a preferred regional cultural tourism destination.

Sponsors for this year’s festival include Ammar Basheir, Design Creative, Bapco, ShowTech Productions, Seef Mall, and Unitag.
