Required and demanded to carry-out many government transactions, birth certificates are highly essential documents. In collaboration with the Ministry of Health, the Information & eGovernment Authority provides the issuance of ‘Replacement of Birth Certificate’ eService via the national portal (bahrain.bh) for those wishing to replace a lost or damaged certificate instantly without any delays.

You may obtain the replaced birth certificate through a timeframe that does not exceed five working days versus several weeks in the past. Bahraini and non-Bahraini applicants – born in 1994 onwards and require a new printed birth certificate – may request a replacement of an existing birth certificate previously issued in Bahrain. Applicants may also obtain 20 copies in one transaction which can be tracked and received by the Express Mail sent to the entered address.

Relatedly, the physical traditional issuing of birth certificates for newborns is no longer available to cater to the present online demand. Parents and service users may issue birth certificates for their newborns and pay the fees online through the portal’s ‘Request of Birth Certificate’ eService or eKiosks available at the government maternity hospitals.

Making it easier for you, citizens and residents may conduct the transaction online at any time and place for the issuing of certificates and electronically pay the fees through the service that saves time, effort and costs as well as maintain quality of delivered service without physically visiting government entities. Regardless of the nationality, residents may conduct the eService given that the expatriate user is recorded within the Ministry of Health’s database.
