There is no greater joy than the joy of giving and no greater satisfaction than the one derived from dedicated service to humanity. This is exemplified through a beautiful charity program undertaken by Lulu Hypermarket during this Holy month of Ramadan. The campaign has been termed as the ‘JOY OF GIVING’ campaign and is being observed over the weekends by distributing over 2,500 Iftar meals over to workers at a labour camp as well us general people at various public places in Bahrain. The annual community outreach program sees the retail giant distributing free Iftar meal packages to the public and the needy. This year, Lulu will be carrying out the campaign in partnership with various charitable organisations in Bahrain which have been invited to participate in the campaign. The first distribution was held at the Aradous Construction camp and was partnered by the Indian Ladies Association. Over 1400 workers broke their fast with Lulu’s Iftar meals. The second distribution saw the management of Lulu personally conduct the Iftar distribution in Manama and over 1000 people were served Iftar meals.
Last Thursday, Lulu distributed food packets to the members of the Bahrain Parent Society as well as passers by driving through that area. Friday saw the same campaign serve these food boxes to innumerable people at Bab-Al-Bahrain. With Batelco as its corporate partner and YourFM as its media partner, Lulu will continue this charity activity over the remaining weekends of the Holy month.
“JOY OF GIVING is our way of sharing the Ramadan spirit with the community and we are very happy that we have Bahrain’s leading charities and community organisations coming forward to partner with us,” said Regional Director Juzer Rupawala.
