Culinary delights straight from the streets of Mumbai is what’s on the menu at the third Mumbai Spices outlet at Al Raya Mall, Juffair.

After the tremendous success of the restaurant outlets in Bahrain Mall and the Adliya branch, Mumbai Spices have fulfilled the “Juffairwalas'” dreams to have completely authentic Indian street food in Juffair at intensive ambience and affordable prices, said Rasheed Puthusseri, founder of Mumbai Spices.

Mumbai spices celebrates the concept of Indian street food and ethnic specialities, with a blend of fiery, punchy and robust flavours.

From a mouthwatering tiffin lunch consisting of bread, rice, curries and a pickle at around BD2, the food in Mumbai Spices is affordable and a pleasure to savour. Gol gapa chaat and pav bhaji are the most popular dishes, along with aloo paratha, masala dosa and Mumbai jumbo sandwiches being other favourites.

Other signature dishes include vada pav, chicken korma pav, keema pav, kebabs and the ever-popular Masala Chai (black milk tea with cardamom, ginger and other ingredients).
Bahrain This Week sampled the famous Dahi Batata Puri, a combination of potatoes with chutney, yogurt, fresh coriander and fried peanuts. It is an explosion of flavours in the mouth that has the spicy herbs soothed by the gentle yogurt and starch.

Chole Bhature (deep-fried thin bread with boiled chickpeas) is another highlight of the restaurant. Expect the rather bland chickpeas and bread to be magically transformed into a tangy delight while eating it with onions and pickle.
The best of all was the Mumbai Chicken Kebab, which was heavenly with its smoky flavour and tenderness.

While curry and biriyani are staples of most Indian restaurants, what makes Mumbai Spices unique are the snacks and desserts that can be found on the streets of the famous city. The shaved flavored ice, the cold potato snack and other similar dishes stand out and offer a truly unique dining experience.

The walls are adorned with pictures that give off the classic Mumbai street vibe. A picture of an Ice Gola Cart (shaved ice with flavoured syrup – a popular street dessert in the streets of Mumbai) is particularly striking.

Mumbai Spices is also very famous in Sharjah, having a premier outlet in the airport, and their first signature brand “7street by Mumbai Spices” is opening in Doha, Qatar by January 12th, 2017, with a 150-seat capacity, the first in Doha.
