Mahatma Gandhi Photo Exhibition Launched

A photo exhibition celebrating the life of Mahatma Gandhi was inaugurated by the Chief Executive Officer of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority, Shaikh Khalid bin Humood Al Khalifa in the presence of the Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for International Affairs, Dr Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa and the Indian Ambassador to Bahrain, Alok Kumar Sinha.

The event, held at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre, is organized by the Indian embassy in cooperation with the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority. It is held in celebration of India’s 70th Independence Day.

2016-10-01-photo-00000486“It was an honour to inaugurate the exhibition held to highlight the life of Mahatma Gandhi. The event portrays the different aspects of his life to the public. Such events allow us to further develop bilateral relations and boost tourism between both nations by promoting the different aspects such as arts and culture,” said the Chief Executive Officer of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Centre, Shaikh Khalid bin Humood Al Khalifa.

2016-10-01-photo-00000487Further commenting on the event, Indian Ambassador to Bahrain, Alok Kumar Sinha said, “Bahrain and India have strong ties that go back many decades and it is based on string foundation. We are proud of our relationship with Bahrain and continually expert efforts to strengthen the ties. We are currently working with BTEA to further develop the tourism ties. This event is one of many to be held in order to promote the Indian culture in Bahrain.”

The event will be held until October 6th.
