To commemorate the last 12 months of art, music, and the Bahrain creativity scene in general, Malja held an all-day event featuring live b-boy jam sessions outside, live graffiti painting, and a musical performance by Bahraini blues band, Thesis.

The anniversary also saw the launch of Malja’s first art exhibition of the year, Definition, curated by Ramah AlHusseini. Definition showcases the different artwork of 14 artists whose unique styles stood out during their involvement with Malja in 2015. The exhibition features paintings, photography, installations, and poetry, and will run during Malja’s regular opening hours until the end of February, 2016.

Different kinds of music were showcased at Malja when Boho Baha’s Khalil Rasool took the deck outside to amp up the b-boys with pure hip-hop, before switching it up to some easy listening and electronica inside after Thesis’ buzzing blues performance.
