Dilmunia Mall Development Company recently sponsored the ‘Race-to-Charity’ Duathlon event organized by the Rotary Club of Manama. The event was held 28 December 2019 at Dilmunia Island.
The sponsorship comes in line with Dilmunia Mall Development Company’s strategy which strives to support charitable organizations. It also assists the initiatives in the Kingdom of Bahrain thereby making an impact on the local society. The event aimed to support patients with Sickle-Cell Disease within the Kingdom of Bahrain and the surrounding region. The proceeds were donated towards purchasing a new blood dialysis and blood exchange machine for patients. In addition, they also cover the expenses of training medical staff to use the equipment.
Commenting on the occasion, the Chief Executive Officer of Mall of Dilmunia, Shaikh Mohammed bin Duaij Al Khalifa, said, “We are delighted to have sponsored the Race-to-Charity Duathlon event organized by the Rotary Club of Manama which was held in Dilmunia Island, as part of our desire to leave a sustainable impact on the lives of the patients with Sickle Cell Disease, both in Bahrain and the GCC. Through this donation, we aim to raise awareness on the disease itself, as well as encourage increased donations and promote the spirit of giving and shed light on this vital event thereby contributing to its overall success.”
