Eagle Hills, a private real estate investment and development company, announced that it will be hosting the third edition of the 98.4 Beach Championship Games from 23 to 25 February at Marassi Beach in Marassi Al Bahrain, a unique waterfront project situated in Diyar Al Muharraq.
The event will consist of a range of activities, including football, volleyball, handball, and basketball, with categories ranging from club leagues and youth centres, to expatriate and all-female competitions. There will also be accompanying activities such as a colour run, a neon night run, and CrossFit, as well as water games for children.
Mr. Daniel Hammond, General Manager of Eagle Hills Bahrain, said: “Marassi Beach is a perfect venue to host these games as it is visited by all segments of the community. Representatives from the Ministry and the participating committees have visited the site to prepare for the games, and we are all confident that it meets the high standards required to host an event of this calibre.”
Organised by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs, the event was launched in 2015 in commemoration of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s National Action Charter and in line with the vision of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee. The aim is to give a more prominent role to Bahrain’s clubs and youth centres and promote local talents. This year marks the 16th anniversary of the Charter, which was implemented in 2001 after 98.4% of the eligible population voted in its favour.
