H.E Shaikha Mai Bint Mohammad Al Khalifa, President Of The Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities held a meeting with Roads Assistant Undersecretary at the Ministry of Works, Municipalities & Urban Planning Eng. Huda Fakhro, and Lieutenant-Colonel Adel Al Doseri from the General Directorate of Traffic on Wednesday 24th of August 2016 to discuss developments of areas around the project Pearling Path in Muharraq.
H.E Shaikha Mai welcomed her guests, lauding the constant cooperation with BACA with regard to the implementation of cultural infrastructure projects, which would facilitate Bahrain becoming a leading cultural hub regionally and internationally.
The meeting also discussed the results of a feasibility study conducted by Italian Systematica, a traffic consultancy firm, focusing on the positive impact of the planned project. A proposal to construct a four-story car park as part of the Pearling path in Muharraq came under the spotlight. The consequences of such a project on the traffic flow in the city of Muharraq as part of Pearling Path project, monitoring it by the Traffic Police authorities, and the supervision of The Ministry of Works and its impact of the economic and commercial activities were among the issues raised during the presentation of the project by the Italian firm.
At the end of the presentation, the participants lauded the proposed project and the study conducted by Systematica firm. As Representatives of Ministry of Works and Traffic Directorate both voiced their readiness to cooperate with Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities with regard to the implementation of this study through the establishment of a joint supervision commission.
