Microsoft participates in Bahrain’s MEET ICT Conference as Official AI partner

Microsoft, as the Official Artificial Intelligence partner, supported the Leading ICT Event in Bahrain, Meet ICT Conference & BITEX Exhibition as the Official Artificial Intelligence Partner.

“Our participation at this year’s MEET ICT Conference, aims to reiterate the message of how AI can amplify human ingenuity and empower organizations across the kingdom of Bahrain to achieve more.” Said Sheikh Saif Hilal Al Hosni, Country Manager, Microsoft Bahrain & Oman. “When made accessible to everyone, AI can transform industries and augment core organizational capabilities to make us more productive, and help solve society’s biggest challenges. Microsoft is going all in with AI by infusing it into our products and solutions; by building breakthrough advances through research and innovation; and by identifying the ethical principles to guide the development and use of AI. Our approach to this intelligent technology is broad and ambitious, and we look forward to democratizing it – to make the world a better place.”

During the conference, Microsoft highlighted latest developments and best practices in the field of technology, specifically in Artificial Intelligence.

As one of the keynote speakers at the MEET ICT Conference, Ihsan Anabtawi, Chief Operating and Marketing Officer for Microsoft Gulf, spoke about “Amplifying Human Ingenuity with Intelligent Technology”.

Anabtawi explained that Microsoft enables digital transformation in the era of intelligent cloud and intelligent edge. Its mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more through innovations such as Microsoft cloud, Office, Windows applications, and other products.

He also spoke about the importance of industrial intelligence applications to companies, that are revolutionizing the way companies operate to serve their customers, develop their capabilities, improve their operations and generating alternative revenues.

Anabtawi further pointed out the importance of upskilling the workforce of Bahrain related to artificial intelligence, in order to increase their productivity and drive innovation. He highlighted that Microsoft is providing various opportunities for developers to use its artificial intelligence tools and solutions to develop applications or enhance existing apps.

It’s worth noting that a recent study by Microsoft found that 72 per cent of Middle east companies are planning to spend part of their budget on artificial intelligence this year.  The study also found that two in five organizations in the region have adopted artificial intelligence solutions, while more than a third are planning to adopt this year and accelerate their digital transformation journey.
