Minister Inspects Airport Entrance Project

Works, Municipalities Affairs & Urban Planning Minister Essam Abdulla Khalaf, has paid an inspection visit to Bahrain International Airport Entrance Revamping Project.

The minister commended the ongoing coordination between MOW and Ministry of Transportation (MOT) reflected through the Bahrain Airport Company. The project of building entrances to the airport coincides with the development of the new airport. He stated that the progress done is 81%, where the first stage is 96% complete, with some minor work left to be done. This work is expected to be completed by mid August.

Accompanied by Assistant Undersecretary of Roads, Huda Fakhro, and Roads Projects and Maintenance Director, Sayed Bader Alawi, and a number of engineers from the ministry, Khalaf instructed to consider the aesthetic nature of the project by planting trees on both sides to and from the airport.

As for the second stage, 71% of works completed. The work on the second stage was divided into several steps to ensure the continuity of current traffic movement for the Bahrain International Airport and the surrounding avenues without issue. The project is expected to be inaugurated in the last quarter of the current year, to coincide with the inauguration of the new airport.
