The National Bank of Bahrain (NBB), in keeping with its long- standing tradition of community care, celebrated Eid Al-Adha at the NBB Home for the Elderly This year’s visit follows the successful celebration held last Eid with members of the Home. Again taking part were a group of NBB volunteers that were selected after an open nomination request was sent out to all staff, with the chosen team of volunteers representing a range of levels across the Bank.
The celebration included the performance of traditional songs and dances as well as live cooking stations. It also included the presentation of specialised equipment to support the Home and its efforts to continue delivering high quality care and enhanced quality of life to the elderly. His Excellency the Minister of Labour and Social Development commended the efforts of NBB and its staff for their continued support and initiatives to promote the wellbeing of the community.
Commenting, Mr. Hisham Abu Alfateh, NBB Head of Corporate Communications, said, “In the spirit of Eid Al-Adha, NBB is delighted to have the opportunity to get closer to the community and celebrate this important holiday with residents of the NBB Home for the Elderly. Engaging more directly with those we serve is a priority for NBB and helps us ensure that our efforts continue to align to the needs of our community and the many notable charities and organisations we support including the NBB Home for the Elderly, which provides invaluable services and care to senior citizens.”
Ms. Huda Al Humood, Social Welfare Director at the Ministry of Labour and Social Development added, “On behalf of the NBB Home for the elderly, I would like to thank NBB for once again making the Eid Al-Adha holiday a memorable occasion for the residents and for its continued support for Bahrain’s elderly. ”
