National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) announced that in celebration of the blessed month of Ramadan, it has distributed coupons for the purchase of foodstuffs in cooperation with 83 Charity Funds and Societies registered with the Ministry of Labour and Social Development.
This contribution is among the many initiatives that form NBB’s donations and contributions programme, which have been ongoing since 1980 and serve to support underprivileged families throughout the Kingdom.
Commenting, Mr. Jean Christophe Durrand, Chief Executive Officer of NBB, said ” In line with its role as a responsible corporate citizen, NBB has been undertaking various initiatives to aid underprivileged families across the Kingdom through its annual donations and contributions programme. The distribution of food purchase coupons is another initiative aimed at benefiting less fortunate sections of the Bahraini community. We, at NBB, would like to take this opportunity to thank all the Charity Funds and Societies for their cooperation and commendable efforts in acting as our distribution channels and helping us in reaching out to a larger number of families this year.”
Representatives from the various Charitable Funds and Societies expressed their thanks and appreciation to the Bank for its continued support. They commended the speed with which the coupons have been distributed and the timing of the distribution that has come well in advance of the start of Ramadan, giving families enough time undertake their preparations for the holy month.
