The National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) chief executive, Dr Mariam Al Jalahma, has been honoured with the Nelson Mandela Award for Health Promotion by the World Health Organisation (WHO). The award ceremony took place during the WHO’s 67th General Assembly at the United Nations Palace in Geneva. The award recognizes individuals or institutions that have gone above and beyond their regular duties to make significant contributions to health promotion. Dr Al Jalahma dedicated the prize to all health workers worldwide. She emphasised the importance of continuing efforts to improve health and well-being in communities, highlighting the collective responsibility for achieving positive health outcomes.
