Northern Governor, Ali bin Al-Shaikh Abdul Hussain Al-Asfoor, has affirmed that charity and humanitarian work is one of the characteristic features of the Bahraini society. He paid tribute to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa as a role model in humanitarian and charity work through his honorary presidency of the Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF).

The Northern Governor was speaking during the governorate’s distribution of Ramadan baskets as part of a custom followed over the past years marking the advent of the Holy Month of Ramadan and as an extension of the national campaign “Fina Khair”, in support of the initiative of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Representative of HM the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and RHF Board of Trustees Chairman.

The Northern Governor said the governorate has distributed the first batch, which consisted of 300 food baskets, on 6 charity societies (Al-Kawthar, Dar Al-Karama, Al-Qarya, Al-Qadam, Kazakan and Salman City Citizens) to communicate and distribute them on needy families and those affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

The Northern Governorate will continue distributing other batches of food baskets on the charity societies before the Holy Month of Ramadan.
