More than 15,000 people from Bahrain and abroad visited the Nakhool Tent next to the Bahrain Fort site to participate in and enjoy its interactive youth-oriented edutainment program that runs for the duration of the 9th edition of the Bahrain Summer Festival from July 7 to August 7 2017.
Featuring festival mascots Nakhool and Nakhoola, the Nakhool Tent offers young talents from the ages of 3 and up a rich and varied schedule of daily activities, workshops, and events to learn new things and develop their skills in a broad range of fields in a fun family-friendly atmosphere, including music, reading, arts and crafts, film-making, electronics and more.
The program also includes Nakhool Superstar, a competition held every festival for artistic talents between the ages of 5 and 15 years in the areas of song, music, poetry, diction and presenting, acting, impersonations and modeling.
The festival, organized by the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA), is part of BACA’s “Our Year of Archaeology” year-long campaign aimed at highlighting the island’s unique archaeological assets and bolstering its position as a preferred regional cultural tourism destination.
With the exception of A Passage to Bollywood and the Yacoub Shaheen concert, all festival headlining live music and theatrical shows are open to the public. Tickets can be purchased at Virgin Megastore’s outlet in Bahrain City Centre or through its online ticket portal (www.virginmegastoreme.com).
Sponsors for this year’s festival are: Ammar Basheir, Design Creative, Bapco, ShowTech Productions, Seef Mall, and Unitag.
