Malja’s second Photography Open Call sees a diverse range of work under the theme of Spaces & Faces
Malja – A Red Bull Space was abuzz with creative energy on Saturday, the 22nd of April, for the launch of its second photography-only open call exhibition: Photography Open Call 2.0. Applica-tions were open online, inviting all kinds of photographers to apply and have their work featured at Malja’s Gallery space for the duration of feature. At the launch, Malja Bahrain has officially started showcasing the work of 25 different photographers in the kingdom, including portrait photography, street photography, and fashion photography.The diverse exhibit was curated by renowned Bah-raini photographer, Summer Ameen, and launched from the 22nd of April to the 3rd of June, 2017.
Summer Ameen launched Photography Open Call 2.0 under the theme of Spaces & Faces. True to the spirit of Malja’s first Photography Open Call, the showcase is an eclectic collection of images that were created by a diverse range of photographers with multiple approaches, techniques, and points of view, to celebrate the medium of photography, discover new talent, and support estab-lished artists on the island.
