Rashid Equestrian Club hosts race over HRH Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s cups

Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club hosted a race held over HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s cup.

HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, National Security Advisor and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport (SCYS), HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First SCYS Deputy Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee President, HH Shaikh Khalid bin  Hamad Al Khalifa, Chairman of the High Committee of the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club, HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Environment and Deputy Chairman of the Club’s High Committee, HH Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa, attended the seven-round race, at the Club’s racecourse in Raffa.

In a statement, HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa highlighted HM the King’s continued support to the Kingdom’s equestrian sport, adding that this has contributed to Bahrain’s success in reaching a distinguished position in this sport, citing the honourable accomplishments of Bahraini youth in this regard.

HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman paid tribute to HRH Crown Prince and Prime Minister for HRH’s unwavering support, adding that the equestrian sport is an integral part of Bahrain’s identity, which  continues to be preserved over the years.

HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman commended the broad participation in the prestigious race, which included enthusiasts from Bahrain and abroad. In this regard, HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman praised the key role played by the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club in organising local and international races in which distinguished jockeys and stables participate, extending sincere congratulations to the winners of HRH Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s cups, and wished them further success.

HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman affirmed his keenness to continue developing the equestrian sport in the kingdom in line with the best standards and systematic programmes that would meet the aspirations of all stables and jockeys in Bahrain, noting that Bahraini youth’s growing interest in such a sport is a catalyst for providing them more opportunities to become professional riders and be able to compete at local, regional and international horse races.

HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman then presented the trophies of HRH Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s cups for locally-bred horses and imported horses to HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

HH also crowned trainer Abdulla Kuwaiti, the winner of HRH Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s cup for Arabian horses.

HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman further presented the trophy of the Club’s High Committee cup to HH Shaikh Sultan Al-Deen bin Mohamed bin Salman Al Khalifa, and that of the Bahrain Derby Cup to winning trainer, Fawzi Nass.

Meanwhile, HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa was presented with the trophy of the “Stewards” Cup by the Executive Director of the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club, Shaikh Salman bin Rashid Al Khalifa, following the success of “Byline”, owned by the Al-Adiyat Racing, in winning the fifth round.
