Backed by 20 years of experience in the field of Family, Sports, Occupational and Aesthetic Medicine, Dr. Rana Al Ammadi is reaping the rewards of winning ‘Female Entrepreneur of the Year’ during the third-edition of the Bahrain Award for Entrepreneurship held earlier this month.

The annual prestigious award aims to celebrate the entrepreneurial spirit and stimulate innovation across all business sectors to achieve economic development within the framework of the Kingdom’s Economic Vision 2030.

“I launched Dr. Rana’s Aesthetic Center back in 2014. The facility is the first integrated health center to focus on providing aesthetically-driven and scientifically-proven treatments using the latest technologies and products that meet European safety requirements and US Health and Drug Administration protocols,” said Dr. Rana Al Ammadi.

“Words can’t express my happiness and pleasure in meeting His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and Chairman of the Economic Development Board during the award. I am honored to win this award and look forward to further developing my business,” she added.

“In the past, I received financial support from Tamkeen for the purchase of medical devices and equipment. I am planning to expand the current center to become the largest clinic for treating hair problems of all kinds, such as transplants, hair loss, alopecia and many more. By doing so, the center will be positioned as the leading destination for various treatments under the field of non-surgical beauty targeting both residents and visitors,” she added.

“All emerging entrepreneurs should be inspired by an idea. The key elements for success are effort, hard work and perseverance, always focusing on the goal and not giving in to the circumstances and difficulties. For me, the biggest issue I have encountered is the routine procedures followed when applying for my two commercial projects, particularly the increase in the prices of the CR and the additional fees that are calculated,” she concluded.

The center provides all cosmetic operations and is the only clinic in the Kingdom of Bahrain that has a specialized unit for hair solutions such as PRP, Mesotherapy, DHI for hair transplantation, and Biofiber for the treatment of baldness.

Dr. Rana began her professional career at the BDF Hospital, where she was the first to launch the Sports Medicine Unit. She then moved on to work for Alba and then went to study medicine in Canada where she focused on treating patients without pain or surgery.

Tamkeen is a Bahraini semi-governmental organization, established in 2006 as part of the country’s national reform initiatives, and is committed itself in positioning the private sector as a key driver of the Kingdom’s 2030 economic vision by providing a full range of services to individuals and companies and raising the standard of living and creating jobs and investments in the Kingdom, as well as believing in the importance of creating an incubating environment that provides the necessary tools for the growth and prosperity of local enterprises.

Over 200 programs and initiatives have been launched in various areas such as funding and financing, skill and career progression and many more. Tamkeen plays an impactful, distinct and critical role in the national economic development’s landscape, having served over 140,000 Bahrainis and businesses.
