Whether you’re a landlord or a tenant, rent procedures can be a daunting task. If you were worried about the required paperwork or the time spent finalizing documents. Your best bet is to benefit from the contract services available online.

Provided by the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs & Awqaf, and the Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA), the Lease Contract service allows landlords and tenants to register for their contracts and check their statuses at any time by visiting National Portal bahrain.bh, sparing them visits to government offices.

Through this service, applicants may apply for properties intended for housing, industrial, commercial, professional, crafting or for almost any other purposes. The only exceptions are land and industrial facilities that are subject to Law Decree No. (28) for the year 1999 on the establishment and organization of industrial zones, agricultural lands, property leased for hotels and tourism purposes, furnished apartments that don’t exceed the period of leased months, residential units that are utilized for working conditions, and land leased for the purpose of development.

A fee of BD5 is required for the residential lease, while the commercial lease requires a fee of BD10.

The digital service also adds new layers of security between landlords and tenants as the contracts are verified online. In case of any dispute, a specialized committee will inspect the contract. Helping both parties avoid the need for a court case.
