Early birds aren’t the only ones catching the worm as Little Gladiators launches morning class schedule for children outside traditional education
Little Gladiators Dubai, the world’s first gym dedicated to the health and fitness of kids, has introduced a schedule of morning classes so children with special needs, as well as those who are home schooled, can enjoy a morning P.E. lesson.
Located at Golden Mile Galleria Mall on Palm Jumeirah, Little Gladiators is a fully equipped gym and fitness centre where kids of all ages and abilities can enrol in fitness classes and training programmes. The kids’ gym also is features a physiotherapy specialist to work with children who have special needs.
Covering an area of 7,400 square feet, Little Gladiators offers Gymnastics, Interactive Wall Climbing, Tree Climbing, Virtual Sports gaming, Kids’ Yoga, Kids’ Cardio, Kickboxing, Kids’ Hammam, Kids’ Spa and a Swimming Pool with highly qualified instructors leading all lessons. The gym also hosts pool parties for birthdays and special occasions, private family swimming lessons and the latest aerobics classes for mums, taught by female instructors.
For children with special physical and developmental needs, Little Gladiators offers expert-led sessions in swimming, kickboxing, cardo and gymnastics, with fully qualified instructors.
Created by expat husband and wife entrepreneurs Javed and Shanna Gani, Little Gladiators is inspired by the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to reduce childhood obesity in the UAE from the current rate of 34% to 12% by 2021.
Shanna says: “Children who don’t attend full time education can often miss out on physical education however P.E. lessons teach many skills, not only in relation to physical ability, but also teamwork, perseverance and cooperation. We are delighted that we can now offer classes specifically for these children to help support their development and also provide a new social outlet, through which they can meet new friends.”
One hour classes begin at 10am, 11am and 12noon every morning, and the schedule also includes adult female aqua aerobics and adult female kickboxing for mums from 10am four times a week. Children are required to arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled class and be collected at the end of the session.
The first Little Gladiators opened to children aged 3years –14years on August 10, 2017 Golden Mile Galleria Mall, on Palm Jumeirah. Two further Little Gladiators centres will open in Dubai over the coming months and parents can enjoy a tour of the facilities before singing up.
