Rotary Club of Manama – Wins Four Awards at the 5th Conference District in Cyprus

The Rotary Club of Manama has won 4 awards at the recently held 5th District Conference in Paphos, Cyprus. Rotary District 2452 is more than 84 years old. It is present in 3 CONTINENTS and 9 COUNTRIES: Lebanon, Cyprus, Jordan, Sudan, Bahrain, UAE, Georgia, Armenia and Palestine. The RCM was the only Rotary Club from Bahrain which won the awards.

The Rotary Club of Manama won awards in the following Category;

  • Community Service (Director Hussain Tadayon)
  • Club Administration (Renuka Ravindran & Khalid Mukhtar)
  • Membership Development & Rotary awareness (Chetan Bhatia & Osama Al Moayed)
  • Youth & Vocational service (Roaya Baqer & Arjette Karemaker)

President Bob Thaker presented the award ceremony on Sunday, 6th May 2018 at the Gulf Hotel. This is a fantastic achievement for Rotary Club of Manama and the Kingdom of Bahrain.

In addition, at the Conference District in Cyprus, past president Mazen Al Omran was elected as District Governor for 2020-2021. Mazen has been an active member for more than 25 years and has been president of the Rotary Club previously. He said “I am pleased and honored to address all my friends at the end of the 2452 Conference in the center of our charming country in Cyprus, it is a little far from Bahrain but close to our hearts”.

Rotary Club Manama was established in 1965 in order to contribute to the charitable activities that serve the Bahraini community under the slogan of “Self before Service”. The club has 64 members from all segments of the Bahraini community. Rotary Club Manama is a member of Rotary International Which has over 1.2 million members Worldwide.
