Rotary Club of Salmaniya Green House project launch

Saturday 9th of October 2021, the Rotary Club of Salmaniya arranged for members of the Bahrain Down Syndrome Care Centre to seed plants in a greenhouse supplied by the Khalid Janahi Charitable Foundation. 20 members of the Bahrain Down Syndrome Care Centre participated in seeding crops with guidance from the Rotary Club of Salmaniya members and their guests. The event has been a major project for the Rotary Club of Salmaniya for over 5 years, with members looking forward to participating yearly.

The Khalid Janahi Charitable Foundation has all been a great partner in this project, with their goal aligning with the Club. The goal of this project is to demonstrate the process of growing and farming crops. Twenty chilli plant seeds were planted during the one hour project.

President Faisal Juma mentions, “The Rotary Club of Salmaniya is proud of this yearly project and is an ally of the disabled community. We always enjoy the company of the members of the Bahrain Down Syndrome Society. This project would not be successful without the assistance and hard work of the Club members, the Down Syndrome participant and the support provided by Othman Janahi and his team.”

The Rotary Club of Salmaniya will be come back to the greenhouse in January 2022 to harvest the crops with the Bahrain Down Syndrome Care Centre members.
