The second edition of Nasser bin Hamad Scientific Research Award in the field of sports ceremony has been confirmed to take place on Wednesday (May 2), the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) announced.
Supreme Council for Youth and Sports assistant general secretary and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) general secretary Abdulrahman Askar said the committee has completed all arrangements in preparation for the prestigious event, to be held at the Sofitel Hotel in Zallaq.
The award comes within the Bahrain Olympic Committee strategy to develop sports movement in the Kingdom, in accordance to scientific standards based on specialized scientific research.
This is the first-of-its-kind award in the Kingdom of Bahrain and is an incentive for researchers to explore their creativities in the field of sports, which has become a fertile ground to take sports into broad prospects that has surpassed old concept surface to become one of the leading industries.
The main objectives of this award is to promote positive trends towards scientific research to knowledge industry, and contribute to developing sport movement, and honour Bahrain’s scientific research pioneers.
The prize covers certain categories, namely the sciences of sports management, sports medicine and sports training.
It will be held under the patronage of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman, and BOC President.
