Smart sales techniques highlighted at BBBF workshop

    Interactive workshop by BBBF reveals effective techniques for increasing sales

    More than 60 BBBF members and guests attended an interactive workshop organised by the BBBF’s Organisational Effectiveness Special Interest Group (SIG) at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. The workshop, led by Ahmed Al-Akber, Managing Director of marketing consultancy firm ACK Solutions, focused on powerful sales strategies.

    Mr. Al-Akber shared novel tactics to help businesses learn how to close significantly higher sales than usual.  He elaborated on a new approach to selling, with a focus on finding out what prospects want before trying to sell to them.

    “For most companies, 80% of their revenue comes from 20% of their clients. Those valuable clients pay the bills,” said Mr. Al-Akber. “Utilising effective sales techniques, knowing your client’s perspective and using a process however simple will increase the chances of winning those big-ticket deals, improve sales, save time and allow businesses to better predict the outcome of their sales efforts.”

    The workshop included interactive role-play sessions where the participants were able to put into practice some of the techniques shared during the evening. All the techniques that were discussed were simple enough to be immediately implemented within any organization that sells business to business.

    The BBBF’s special interest groups’ events are sponsored by Standard Chartered and GPIC. The groups were created as a platform to facilitate ideas and expertise sharing among the local business community.
