Smart Stores Expo 2017, the inaugural industry event for regional retailers and retail solution suppliers, is gearing up to introduce the newest technologies that are transforming the industry. The three-day exhibition and related conferences takes place until 25 January at ADNEC, Abu Dhabi.

The business of retail has extended its reach beyond limits of time and space, thanks to technology. With the rise of internet and mobile technology, over 12% of retailers across the globe are already providing omnichannel experience to their customers. The regional retail too is following suit with over 25% of regional shoppers regularly buying products online, and another 20% customers using cashless payment apps and in-store technologies like barcode readers and self-service kiosks.

Smart Stores Expo 2017 will cover the latest and best solutions and strategies that will support retailers in impressing their customers and expanding their online territories. Renowned solutions providers that have confirmed their participation in the Expo include, MTF-Technics, SES-imagotag, TSC Auto ID Technology ME, NCC Group and xplace GmbH.

“We believe Smart Stores Expo 2017 is a premier event that is showcasing the smart retail industry and it will bring together buyers, manufacturers, retail professionals and visitors from all around the world. It will surely be a platform to gain exposure to new technology trends in the industry, and will support retailers to improve many operational areas including store design, point of sales infrastructure and customer service,” commented Mr. Tarek El Goweiny, CEO, NCC Group, which will be showcasing smart retail solutions such as digital stores, loyalty programmes, Facilities Management, QHSE management, and supply chain solution.

Furthermore, cutting-edge retail technologies and product demos by industry giants will also be available on the exhibition floor. InfoQuest, a leading technology provider of retail technology solutions will be launching the wide entrance Sensormatic systems that cover entrances as big as 2.5 metres between the antennas and the latest retail listing app. Another participant SES Imagotag will showcase the connected store concept with digital tags and near field technology.

“A show like the Smart Store Expo is a unique opportunity for both retailers and solution providers alike, as it will allow them to network and view newest technologies that can present their customers with an interactive shopping experience. We aim to explore the local market and present ourselves as a key player in the region,” says Emil Zagirov, Director International Expansion at xplace GmbH.
