This week the Smurf show kicked off at the Cultural Hall to the delight and thrill of innumerable kids in the Island who have been waiting for some fun and frolic during their summer break.
Fans of all ages gathered at the Cultural Hall on Thursday (July 14) to witness the latest adventure of everyone’s favorite adorable blue forest creatures. Performing for the first time ever on the island, the Smurfs transform the Bahrain Summer Festival season into a colorful springtime forest setting in their fun family-friendly stage production The Smurfs Live on Stage – Smurfs Save Spring!
Featuring the recognizable life-size mushroom-shaped houses, vibrant forest backdrops, and wonderful original sing-along music, the interactive production features many of the famous comic characters created by Belgian cartoonist Peyo back in 1958. The story has the Smurfs – in the midst of preparing for their annual Spring Parade – using their collective wits and teamwork to somehow overcome the evil plot by their arch-nemesis Gargamel to ruin their parade and turning off spring forever.
‘It is almost like our childhood returned to us,’ said Mr Adel, one of the visitors to BTW.
Audience in Bahrain now have plenty of opportunity to join the fun, as the production will play several times a day from July 14 to 18. Tickets for the shows are available at the Virgin Megastore’s outlet in Bahrain City Centre or its online ticket portal (www.virginmegastoreme.com).
Held under the theme “Your Destination Bahrain” and organized by the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA), the 8th edition of the month-long Bahrain Summer Festival features an amazing lineup of top shows at the Cultural Hall and an interactive edutainment program at the Nakhool Tent next to the Bahrain National Museum.
