Dominic Peckham, will be working with students, staff and parents of St Christopher’s School, on February 29, March 1 and March 2.
Regarded as one of the UK’s finest young and dynamic orchestral and choral conductors. He is widely seen as a ‘leading light in music education’. His sessions for both adults and young people alike have been described as innovative, eye-opening and empowering; using the voice as a way to develop not only musical skills, but also teamwork, leadership and confidence through interactive, fun and insightful master-classes and workshops. We hope that the power of singing can be utilised as an aide to well-being in a school, aside from other, more well-known benefits.
Dominic holds posts as Assistant Music Director for The National Youth Choirs of Great Britain, Director of Ulster Youth Training Choir, Artistic Director for The Royal Opera House’s youth project RM19 and Artistic Director and Founder of iSing UK – the touring schools workshop company. He regularly works in schools across the UK and abroad leading workshop days and individual sessions to get students singing and working together across all ages.
Not only inspiring students and young people, Dominic regularly leads Continuing Professional Development (CPD) sessions, and days for education workers and choir leaders. He leads conducting master-classes, sessions designed to help music educators get the very best from their students and workshops to help adults find their voice. He also regularly leads insight events for The Royal Opera House, spanning ‘sing-alongs’, interactive family days and everything in between.
Dominic Peckham spent most of June 2015 filming with Choirmaster Gareth Malone and TwentyTwenty Television for a brand new BBC series celebrating all things a cappella, ‘The Naked Choir’ on BBC2. We are extremely privileged to have such a celebrated choral conductor working with us.
