With every success comes distinction and fineness, it is something we seek for and acquire after a long journey of hard work and perseverance. It isn’t limited to only individuals, but also public and private entities with their delivered quality of services. Everyone pursues excellence, hence, with the intention of rewarding and highlighting the innovative and pioneering initiatives in this field, the Information & eGovernment Authority opens its nomination doors by inviting the public to enrol for the eGovernment Excellence Award 2017 at its 9th edition.

Under the patronage of HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak AlKhalifa, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Information & Communication Technology; the awarding ceremony grants every government entity, business and civil society institution in the ICT sector or a citizen with an ICT initiative the opportunity to present their initiatives, projects, services and innovative systems on a public platform surrounded by a competitive, constructive environment.

This edition, the award has introduced new categories to highlight innovative projects that provide the highest levels of benefits to users while adhering to Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030, upgrade the level of services as well as reduce costs, time and efforts in completing transactions.

Those who desire to enrich their ICT knowledge and take part in the award; the winning organization/citizen gains the position of a successful entity in the country since it advances other organizations’ quality of products and services, has the opportunity of communicating and cooperating between participating organizations and individuals, along with the ability to improve their work based on comments provided by the Jury committee for all participants.

This year’s Government Awards categories comprise ‘Best eGovernment Website’, ‘Best Government-to-Government eService’, ‘Best Practice in Community eParticipation’ and ‘Best eGovernment Integrated Services for Individuals or Businesses’. While Multi Sectors Awards categories encompass ‘Best Application for Smart Devices’; combined with Citizen Awards categories of both ‘Best eConcept’ and ‘eCitizen’.

A workshop about the award has been conducted by the Organizing Committee to propose an overview of the requisites and required standards that assist in accepting the participated work and mechanism of submission. Participants will later benefit from Jury’s comments by developing their future work as the Jury Committee comprises local and international experts as jury members.
