Startup MGZN Concludes its First Startup Workshops Program That Helped Over A 100 Entrepreneurs in Bahrain Grow & Develop

Under the patronage of H.E. Sh. Mohammed bin Essa Al-Khalifa, Tamkeen Chairman, the Startup Workshops closing ceremony gathered over a 100 entrepreneurs and organisations in Bahrain at the Capital Club in Manama to celebrate the success of the Startup Workshops program by Startup MGZN. The event’s hosts showed their appreciation towards the program’s instructors and partners handed through gestures of appreciation handed to them.

20161024_00120Startup Workshops by Startup MGZN is a series of highly practical, specific and unique workshops to help startups and entrepreneurs solve specific problems and fill specific skill-based gaps. The program organised eight monthly four-hour workshops, conducted by members of the local community, since 2015. The workshops were delivered to over a 150+ attendees, covering topics from marketing on a budget to accounting on the cloud to establishing a business in Bahrain.

20161024_00290The program is funded by the U.S.-Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI) Local Grants Program through the U.S. Department of State, along with the generous support of our strategic partners Tamkeen Bahrain, Zain Bahrain, Bahrain Economic Development Board, Bahrain Development Bank, Rowad, and the Ministry of Industry, Commerce & Tourism.

“It’s important to get practitioners in this field to conduct the workshops rather than academics. We aimed to have someone who practices marketing everyday to teach marketing, an accountant teaching accounting, and so on. Being a practitioner in the field gives the attendees access to the solutions and challenges faced in Bahrain’s market that could be very helpful to their startup’s development” told us Ahmed Alsawafiri, the founder of Startup MGZN.

20161024_00298“The workshop was highly beneficial and inspiring. Learning from the experience of someone who had been through the entrepreneurial journey. The topics covered were very relevant and gave a good synopsis of what involves setting up a business.” said Najma Ghuloom, a participant in one of the workshops.

Startup MGZN is Bahrain’s first and favourite community and digital publication for startups, entrepreneurs, the business community, and the future of the startup ecosystem in the Kingdom. For more information, please visit www.startupbahrain.com.
