The St Christopher’s School summer concert took place last night at the Saar campus.
The Year 2 – Year 6 LAHAN Choir, String, Brass, Woodwind and Guitar Ensembles along with the Junior Orchestra all performed in this year’s concert. In total, 170 children sang and played. This event is always fun-filled and gets the whole audience in the mood for the summer!
The concert concluded with a massed sing and play of ‘Lighting up the Flame’ by Mr Laurie Lewin. This years’ “Voices Around the World” song which celebrates the 2016 Olympics in Rio.
Background:
“Voices Around The World” is a music project that involves singers in schools from all around the world learning one song, recording it and being part of a final mix that features all their voices. The single will be released online to raise money for Njombe School in Tanzania, as well as the “United World School” in Cambodia.
St Christopher’s Infant and Junior Schools’ project, in association with United World Schools (UWS), helped raise funds to build and run a school in Cambodia, and the Senior School students are helping to raise funds to build and maintain a school in Nepal.
