Last week the action at the Nakhool Gardens was all about being nostalgic. The vintage cartoon festival gave the elders a chance to cherish the revival of their long gone childhood days and to the kids to marvel at the cartoons created without the advanced technologies available today.

The African week that ran from 14th to the 20th of August at the Nakhool Gardens included free story-telling sessions, creative workshops and great activities. Parents could participate along with their kids in several of the activities like building a ship, Bahraini embroidery, recycle art and designing cartoon characters. More surprises were unveiled at the Gardens at Sitra Mall, as the kingdom’s favorite ‘Baba Yasin’ visited the place to tell visitors all about the heritage of Bahrain and special contests were held for the little participants.

With the Sesame Street friends taking the stage with their wonderful tunes, the Summer Festival this year has entered its last weeks of festivities.

Taziri: Titi Robin Ensemble                                    

Date & Time: August 25: 8:00pm – 9:30pm

Venue: Cultural Hall

A beautiful weave of seemingly incompatible musical genres into brilliant and unique masterpieces brought live on the stage of Bahrain. French musician, composer, and improviser extraordinaire Thierry “Titi” Robin, known for his ‘Mediterranean music’, will be joined on stage by Moroccan musician Mehdi Nassouli.

Beat Bumper: Wrecking Crew Orchestra                                      

Time: August 28: 7:00pm – 8:30pm / August 29: 7:00pm – 8:30pm

Venue: Cultural Hall

Beat Bumper is the latest innovative and mesmerizing show by the Japanese street dance troupe, Wrecking Crew Orchestra. Expect a mind bending showcase of well choreographed moves by a team of eight, wearing special futuristic illuminated costumes that glow in the dark surroundings.
