Tamkeen Announces qualifying Teams Participating in the 5th Edition of Mashroo3i Youth Business Awards

A total of 52 teams out of 90 have been qualified for the next phase of Youth Business Plans Competition ‘Mashroo3i’.

Organized annually by the Labour Fund “Tamkeen”, the national platform of Mashroo3i is targeting Bahraini youth aiming to start their own business by promoting entrepreneurial values and providing the necessary tools to transform their business ideas into feasible business plans.

Following the completion of the Orientation Training during the first phase of the competition, the 52 shortlisted teams will start developing their business plans with the assistance of their mentors over the coming two months. The shortlisted teams will then present their business plans to the judges in December.

“During the coming phase, contestants will be working very closely with their mentors who represent an elite selection of successful local entrepreneurs who are passionate about giving back to the community. Mentors play a major role in guiding the teams throughout the upcoming phases which will strongly enrich the contestant’s experience” commented Manager of Youth Schemes at Tamkeen, Mohammed Ahmadi.

The 12 mentors taking part in this year’s competition are: Mr. Eyad Abdulla, CEO of Infinity Polymers, Ms. Doa’a Essa AbdulWahab, Founder and Managing Director of Salad Boutique, Mr. Mohammed Abdulaal, Founder of All Food Co, Ms. Mayssa Al Ghawas, Founder of PlayWorks Décor, Mr. Omar Al Khan, Founder & Managing Partner of ParkPoint Parking Solutions, Mrs. Nahla Al Mahmood, Founder of LalaBella Events Boutique, Mr. Hussain Husaini, Founder of Flashh, Mr. Sami Al Mandeel, Founder of Bahrain Line Aquaponics Center, Mr. Mohamed Al Bastaki, Executive Board Member of Equilibria, Mrs. Zainab Al Hassan, COO of Olaiwat Innovation Activation, Mr. Manaf AlAni, Director of Berlitz-Bahrain & Thomas International and Mr. Hamad Al Kooheji, Founder of Ego Home.

After presenting their business plans to the judges at the end of the Business Planning Phase, the selected teams will then proceed to the Prototype phase where 30 teams will be shortlisted and their prototypes will be displayed at the public exhibition, which will be held in one of the shopping malls in March 2019.
