Tamkeen honours Graduates of Hospitality Training Programme

Tamkeen announced the graduation of 25 graduates of the hospitality training programme, held at the Westin Hotel. The programme, launched in cooperation with three of Bahrain’s top hotels, Sofitel Bahrain, The Westin and Le Meridien, aims to provide candidates with skills to succeed in the tourism and hospitality industry via practical on-site training.

Launched in May of 2015, training and certification for the programme was provided by Third Wave International and the William Angliss Institute. 75 Bahrainis registered for this year’s programme, who received training with content including situation responsiveness, customer care and teamwork communication amongst other skills needed by the sector in areas such as safety, reception, catering, operations and others.

Klaus Neifer, Complex General Manager of the Westin and Le Méridien Bahrain City Centre, praised the results of the partnership with Tamkeen, and said: “As a result of the hospitality programme with Tamkeen, we have been able to employ Bahraini talent that have the skills and experience necessary to match the high standards required by the high-end hotel industry.
