Tamkeen partners with Huawei to launch ICT Talent training initiative

Labour Fund “Tamkeen” has partnered with Huawei to launch an educational initiative which will provide 3,000 Bahraini candidates with hands-on competence training in the latest ICT technologies. The announcement was made through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which took place at Tamkeen office on 21st Feb.

Tamkeen and Huawei’s initiative will offer promising candidates specialized training in the ICT industry’s most cutting-edge fields, including 5G, AI, IoT, cloud computing, networking and security, etc. Trainees will also enjoy on-the-job mentoring at Huawei’s premises, and the opportunity to visit Huawei’s headquarters in Shenzhen, China, where they will meet directly with Huawei’s global experts to discuss the most advanced ICT trends and technologies. A joint-selection committee will confer annually to select outstanding candidates for participation in the project, which will run over a five-year duration.

As a governmental organization tasked with supporting Bahrain’s private sector and positioning it as the key driver of economic growth and development, one of Tamkeen’s primary objectives is to enhance the productivity and training of the national workforce through joint innovative programs with companies such as Huawei. This new program will help to equip the Bahraini workforce with the capabilities and skills they need to build a diversified, knowledge-based economy in line with Bahrain Vision 2030.

rahim Mohammed Janahi, Chief Executive of Tamkeen commented on the partnership, “We are grateful to Huawei for working with us to offer Bahraini individuals this unique opportunity which will support our aim to ensure that we are realizing the potential of every Bahraini. We believe it is our duty to be facilitators and catalysts of change in this dynamic era and working alongside Huawei will enable us to follow through with our plans to diversify our economy.”
