Bahrain watched with breathless awe as Volkswagen Bahrain presented the all-new Tiguan for the first time in the Kingdom at a launch event on September 28th in the Volkswagen showroom for the media and public.
The new Tiguan features innovative technology, upgraded off-road capabilities and a new striking design, allowing drivers of the new model the freedom to navigate the urban jungle with confidence. Immediately exuding a powerful presence, the new Tiguan is noticeably streamlined, sharper and even more precise in design, exhibiting a new design language by Volkswagen.
The latest model is packed with cutting-edge technology with engines ranging from a 1.4L engine with an output of 150 HP, up to a 2.0L engine with a 220 HP and a six and seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox (DSG) with 4MOTION, which is now offered for the first time in the Tiguan. The new model will be available in five trim levels S 1.4L, SE 1.4L, SE 2.0L, SEL 2.0L and Sport 2.0L with 220 HP with an additional R-Line package available from the SE model upwards for both the interior and exterior.
The new Tiguan is one of the world’s most advanced Compact SUVs with impressive innovative features enhancing the vehicle’s safety, convenience, infotainment and dynamism. These include the 12.3-inch Active Info display – an interactive, fully digital main instrumental panel and a Head-Up Display, offered for the first time in a Volkswagen SUV. Furthermore, ensuring complete passenger comfort and convenience are features such as Easy Open / Easy Close (automatic opening or closing of the tailgate in response to a specific foot movement behind the Tiguan) and power comfort seats with a memory feature.
The new model is the first Volkswagen SUV built on the state-of-the-art MQB platform and features new technology, completely unique in the compact class; including Active Info Display, Adaptive Cruise Control and Head-Up Display.
