One of the most awaited events of the summer season is finally here. The Bahrain Summer Festival was officially inaugurated on 30 July 2015 by  BACA President Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al-Khalifa at the Sitra Mall. Amidst cheer and applause from the large crowd gathered at the mall, the event marked the gala beginning of 30 days of fun and entertainment for tourists and residents visiting the Festival.

The Nakhool Garden near Sitra Mall is going to be abuzz with activity for the duration of the Bahrain Summer Festival, where kids can interact with their all-time favourite mascots of the event; Nakhool and Nakhoola, every day. The shows, activities and attractions lined up are designed to create lasting memories along with providing edutainment for young visitors of the event.

The opening ceremony of the Festival at the Nakhool Garden was followed by Umm Kulthoom: The charm of the East, a concert held at the Cultural Hall, that paid tribute to the ‘star of the east’ – one of the first ladies of Arabic song, Umm Kulthoom.  The Abdel – Halim Nuweira ensemble performed a fine selection of her timeless hits. Free tickets were made available for the visitors of the Bahrain National Museum during opening hours days prior to the beginning of the festival.

The major event lined up for this week is LaLaLuna.
