Rasoi by Vineet at The Gulf Hotel offering the finest in contemporary Indian dining Bahrain has to offer

Rasoi by Vineet at The Gulf Hotel takes you on a journey into the evolution of Indian cuisine. Diners can expect fantastic reimagining of classic Indian dishes by Michelin-starred celebrity chef Vineet Bhatia at the restaurant where much effort has been taken for the presentation and atmosphere.

A visually stunning urban lounge leads into the rather large main restaurant with its custom-made chandeliers and luxurious crystal bead curtains, a modern take on the Indian dining experience.

Expect the same attention to detail on the dishes too. Chef Vineet’s signature dishes are intricately presented and appear anything but Indian to the eye. However, the food remains authentically Indian upon first bite.

Moreover, the fine-dining restaurant has both a contemporary and sharing main courses menu.

The unusually appetizing crunchy Chickpea Fritter with Dal Soup started off the meal with the delectable Rasoi Platter, a stunningly presented trio of Tandoori prawn, kadak seekh kabab (lamb) and chutney chicken tikka.

Next up was another delightful starter the Almond Tikki which featured a crisp almond crusted green pea tikki, Punjabi chickpeas, sweetened yoghurt and tamarind chutney sorbet. The gorgeous looking dish dish left behind the wholesome taste of chickpeas.

The highlight of the meal followed behind with the refreshingly unique Sambhar Podi Lobster, a South Indian interpretation of the beloved seafood dish. It came with lemon-peanut rice, beetroot moilee, coconut-coriander chutney, exemplifying the aformentioned evolution of Indian cuisine that diners can look forward to.

What followed was lasagna as you’ve never imagined before with the Uttappam Lasagne, rice pancakes layered with aubergine chutney, baby aubergine and crisp iddiyappam (South Indian rice flour noodles).

After a palette cleanser, diners are then further treated to the sharing menu which features the creamy Murg Makhanwala (chicken tikka in a creamy tomato-fenugreek sauce), Dal Maharani (slow-cooked bean preparation enriched with fresh cream) and the amazing Gosht Dum Biryani. The absolutely stunning Biriyani featured melt-in-your-mouth lamb with brilliant additions such as apricots, almonds and caramelised onion. A pastry covering is used to lock in the steam and flavour, ensuring your biriyani moist and full of taste.

On desserts, the heavenly Gulab Jamun cheesecake further pays tribute to the brilliance of Chef Vineet. With rose caviar and rose peta-vanilla bean kulfi, the sweet course is a definite must-have of the establishment. The Malai Aam Kulfi also offered a twist on mango-flavoured Indian ice-cream with a clove meringue.

Rose Mojito with its fresh petals, Ginger-Coriander Lemonade, Mango Lassi and Rose Cardamom Lassi serve as the perfect drinks for pairing off with the amazing dishes.

Rasoi by Vineet is the perfect destination for diners looking for something extraordinary but still retains the Indian spirit. The restaurant keeps its selection limited to ensure top-notch food quality. Furthermore, the dishes retain the touch of Chef Vineet as not a single change is made without his knowledge or instruction.

Since its doors opened in 2014, Rasoi by Vineet is the first fine-dining restaurant in Bahrain operated by a Michelin starred chef. It maintains its top ranking on trip advisor and has won numerous restaurant awards in Bahrain such as the Food and Travel Award, Time Out Bahrain and Citi Fact Dining awards.

The restaurant also celebrated its 2nd-year anniversary in November last year.
