The King Hamad Youth Empowerment Award confirms Bahrain’s global leadership

Youth and Sport Affairs Minister Ayman bin Tawfeeq Al-Moayyed affirmed that the King Hamad Youth Empowerment Award to Achieve the Sustainable Development Goals has become well-known initiative internationally due to the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in educating youth on decision making to participate in sustainable goals.

“The ministry is keen to implement the directives of His Majesty’s representative of Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa to ensure the continuity of the award this year despite the pandemic around the world; which prove Bahrain’s keenness to play its role in supporting international communities and youth to achieve the sustainable development goals,” the minister said.

He explained that the award includes two categories, the youth category which will be open for individuals aged 15-29 years, youth-led entities and youth-focused entities’ applications. This category will be awarded five prizes for 5 key aspects of sustainable development: People, Prosperity, Planet, Peace and Partnership. While the second is the youth supporter category which will be open for the following sectors: the governmental and public sector, the private sector, non-governmental organizations and the media.
