The Mall at World Trade Center Abu Dhabi Kick Starts its Pre-Loved Stories & Book Festival

Festival runs from 13th -15th April 2017

Today the Mall at World Trade Center Abu Dhabi (WTCAD), the modern shopping destination in the heart of Abu Dhabi, in collaboration with Wanna Read?, the commendable charity led by H.H. Sheikha Shamma bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, and renowned Al Bayt Al Arabi, revealed the exciting and creativity-filled activity schedule for its Pre-Loved Stories & Book Festival.

The unique three day literary festival will offer something new for all the family members including cosplay shows, puppet making and calligraphy workshops, in addition to cultural sessions and private book readings from prominent Emirati authors.

On Thursday at 6:00pm the festival will begin the weekend with an interactive Cosplay show, inviting visitors to try on costumes from their favorite films. Next, at 7:00pm there will be an exclusive reading from Nairoz-El Tanbouli.

Over the weekend, to keep children excited and entertained with a series of performances, including a shadow theatre show at 3:00pm, a children’s theatre performance at 5:00pm and again a cosplay show at 6:00pm, and on Friday, Nairoz-El Tanbouli will host another book reading session at 7.00pm.

The Mall at WTCAD aims to unlock the children’s imagination encouraging them to connect with their books and take a literary adventure.

Well known Emirati author Salma Khamis Alrezaiqi will be giving a children’s reading session at 4:00pm. During this hour visitors will be invited to ask Salma questions about her books and her careers. Moreover, a cultural session by Majid Sokar will start at 7.00pm, as The Mall at WTCAD hopes to inspire Emirati writers of the future.

The highlight of the Pre-Loved Stories & Books Festival is the results of the book drive in which The Mall at WTCAD invited visitors to share your favourite book with someone new. The books will now be sold during the festival and the proceeds from the sales and some of the books will go to by ‘Wanna Read?’ which is a non-porfit organization that provides book readings to young children in hospitals throughout the UAE.

The festival highlights The Mall at WTCAD’s commitment to the UAE’s Year of Giving as the festival not only gives the gift of knowledge and fun through the many activities but also the proceeds to the charity ‘Wanna Read?’.
