The Merchant House, awarded the Best Boutique Hotel in the region, offers its guests a unique stay immersed with world-renowned fine art coupled with rich local Bahraini culture. The distinctive characteristics, facilities, and inspired service at The Merchant House have earned it its spot in the Top 10% of hotels worldwide, and recently won the 2020 Traveller’s Choice Award on Tripadvisor.

This 5-star boutique hotel has caught the attention of many locals and tourists alike. It is a hot-spot particularly for art-lovers for the curated art collection. The growing collection of over 200 pieces features up and coming local artists with the likes of Aysha Almoayyad, Mustafa Halwachi, Balqees Fakhro, Omar AlRashid, and Abbas Almosawi; as well as other world-famous artists such as Warhol, Picasso, Hirst, and Matisse.

With an in-house spa that won OHLALA’s Spa and Wellness nomination in 2020, The Merchant House is appreciated for its distinguished amenities, with the artistic twist. The Merchant House’s Café Gray, is home to the hotel’s library, with a large collection of books, offering an ambient and intimate space for guests to wind down. Including the exclusive experience that Café Gray offers, this inspired boutique hotel’s pride and joy lies in its rooftop terrace.

As the best rooftop in town, overlooking the city, the terrace features furniture made with famous, replenished, handcrafted fabrics. Guests and visitors can enjoy a fine dining experience on the rooftop terrace at Indigo, the in-house restaurant, offering an array of cuisines and excelling, particularly, in Mediterranean and Asian cuisine. The Indigo restaurant also uses a variety of fresh herbs sourced directly from The Merchant House’s very own terrace garden, including rosemary, lavender, jasmine, and lots more.

As the Kingdom prepares to reopen for dine-in, post-COVID, on the 3rd of September, The Merchant House is proud to announce the reopening of Indigo and Café Gray. TMH will welcome guests to dine-in at the most unique hotel in the region, of course with health and safety precautions as advised by the Ministry of Health.
