‘Tonight’ launched in Bahrain

The flag bearer of Bahrain’s electronic dance music scene, Abdulla AlMuharraqi a.k.a DJ Jackson has collaborated with Romanian pop sensation Two Akcent and Caribbean musician Dollarman on a single titled ‘Tonight’.

The announcement was made at the prestigious Bushido Restaurant and Lounge in the presence of the senior management of Bushido and members of the media.

This is the first time that a Bahraini artist has collaborated with the colossally popular musicians, putting the Kingdom on the international music map.

DJ Jackson got acquainted with Akcent when they first came to Bahrain. Bonding over music through the years, they finally decided to work on ‘Tonight’. After toiling for over a year, the single is finally releasing under the umbrella of Mango Records in Bucharest, Romania.

The track needed that extra oomph- enter Dollarman. It is expected to be the next big party anthem that will be played at nightclubs in the region and across the globe.

On November 25, the track was unveiled to the rest of the world in an electrifying event held on Bushido’s top floor. Resident DJ Albert played his groovy tunes before DJ Jackson took over to deliver a captivating set crafted especially for the night. The evening also saw performances by violinist Beata Just, robot dancers, and LED hologram dancer Sweety.

About DJ Jackson

Having had an ear for music since an early age, the DJ/producer took his relentless passion for music to the next level in 1998, when he first started spinning the decks at parties in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

He observed inspirational DJs on the scene and learnt every nook and cranny of the industry, from mixing vinyls to production, honing his skill till he became an expert. This diligence landed him the trophy on no.1 spot in the Bahrain DJ competition.

DJ Jackson then went on to open his own production company, rendering services for event production and management, and has become a local celebrity with an international flair. He then took it up a notch by jetting his way to fame when he shared the stage with Ferry Corsten, Akon, Massari, Darude, PVD, David Guetta, Neyo, Eric Turner, UNK , Karl Wolf, Tara Mcdonald, Tyga, LMFAO, David Vendetta. He ha also  opened the show for Tiesto.

From 2011 onwards, DJ Jackson has been rocking the summer jams at Privilege Club/IBIZA, famous for being the world’s biggest nightclub, as well as playing in Germany, Dubai, Qatar , Amsterdam, Ibiza, Ukraine, Romania, and Turkey.

DJ Jackson has been ranked at the most famous online DJ database www.thedjlist.com, as #267 in the world, and #1 in Bahrain 2008, #254 worldwide, and #1 in Bahrain in 2009, and moving up to the top 100 while maintaining #1 status in Bahrain in 2010.

DJ Jackson has played in hundreds of concerts & nightclubs, featured on plenty of radio station like Ibiza Global Radio, represented Fashion TV and Ministry of Sound world tour as headliner for many years, and has been in the spotlight of the media frequently.

Having collaborated with the world famous Two Akcent, he is now on the verge of releasing an EDM party anthem titled ‘Tonight’ featuring Dollarman.

About Two Akcent

The guys were co-founders of boy-band Akcent – one of Romania’s most beloved bands in the past decade. The song ‘that’s my name’ produced also by Edward Maya was the group’s biggest international success and helped them reaffirm their position in their fans’ hearts.

Later, in 2005 the boys crossed the Romanian borders when their song Kylie became no. 1 hit in the Netherlands, after being played by a national radio station – Slam FM. They were one step away from the international success. The band’s English songs were starting to be played on the worldwide radio stations, and YouTube reaffirmed their fame: My Passion has over 40 million views, and Stay with me over 20 million views.

Among their many notable events, they sang for the Queen of Netherlands alongside Tiesto within an extremely important event. They had over 2000 shows across the world, beside Romania in countries such as Germany, USA, Canada, Malaysia, Dubai, India, Russia, Spain, Italy, France, Sweeden, Poland, etc. They were also on the famous French national TV channel M6, in Paris, along side Craig David, T.A.T.U. and Texas. They sang on the same stage with Enrique Iglesias and others big international artists.

Their record includes 4 Golden Discs and a Platinum Disc in Romania, a Golden Disc in France, Russia and Poland, but most important of them all are the millions of fans from around the world.

However, Mihai Gruia and Sorin Brotnei took it to the next level, which may be the most important step in a worldwide famous artist: they co-founded Mango Records, one of the most important record labels in Romania. Mihai and Sorin now benefit by their experience and professionalism in order to coach young new artists, becoming managers, producers and impresarios altogether.

The debut song of the new band called TWO – formed by Sorin and Mihai – is Spre Soare (To the Sun) a song that keeps the sound of their former band – Akcent, which is a very important part of the lives of the two. It is produces by Mihai and Sorin, in collaboration with Dorian Oswin, and the feminine voice belongs to one of the many artists that Mango Records represents – Bianca.

About Dollarman

Dollarman is a Caribbean singer, songwriter, producer and musician born in Grenada. Moving to Brooklyn, NY he continues to present hits with a Caribbean influence and reggae.

His big claim to fame came when Dollarman was featured as a Dancehall artist on “Rock This Party (Everybody Dance Now)” released by Bob Sinclar and Cutee B featuring Dollarman, Big Ali and Makedah. The song stayed at No. 1 for 4 weeks on the Ultratop 40 Belgian charts, going gold. Dollarman was awarded a gold plaque at the 2006 MTV Europe’s The Music Factory (TMF) Awards held in Amsterdam, where he also performed. In 2007, it became a No. 1 hit in Billboard’s Hot Dance Club Songs. The song is featured on Sinclar’s album Western Dream released on the Tommy Boy Label. Another big collaboration with Sinclar included the release of “Sound of Freedom” with Bob Sinclar and Cutee B featuring Gary Pine and Dollarman which went to No. 1 on US Hot Dance Club Songs and was a top 5 hit in many European charts.

Based on these international successes, Dollarman performed in many European clubs. He followed that international hit in 2007 with another song produced by Bob Sinclar entitiled “Let Yourself Free”, a remake of the 1991 hit “Everybody’s Free (To Feel Good)” by Rozalla. It was yet again a hit in the Billboard dance charts. After a remix of Ace of Base classic “All That She Wants”, for the Ministry of Sound, he had another massive hit with “Hit the Floor”, a remake of the hit song “The Power” by Snap!. It is clredited to Big Ali featuring Dollarman. It peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard dance charts.
