Traveling & need to renew your Bahraini passport?

Planning to travel? Before you decide, check your passport’s validity today to avoid any last minute stress. Don’t panic if it requires renewal, the National Portal (Bahrain.bh) got you covered with the ‘Passport Renewal’ eService.

Bahraini citizens can smoothly renew their passports, pay the fees and enquire about the status of their renewal requests – all carried out online without the need to physically visit any governmental entities’ service center.

Provided by the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA) in collaboration with the Information & eGovernment Authority; the highly accommodating service saves time and eases the renewal process for citizens and their family members (wife & children) – considering they have the eKey log-in access.

Once processed, applicants receive an SMS notifying them that their passports are ready for pick-up. Applicants are also required to bring their old or expired passport in order to collect their newly-released one at the NPRA branch.

Registering for your eKey authentication only requires a simple visit to one of iGA’s branches at three different locations – iGA’s Isa Town branch (Identity Card Center); Bahrain Investors Centre at the Financial Harbour; or the Social Insurance Organization.

It is advised that you always leave sufficient time to renew your passport even if it is just the thought of catching a flight – as a soon-to-expire passport can truly make any person anxious.
