UK Forces personnel have generously donated 150BD to the ‘Bahrain for All’ charity, working towards the provision of activity books for disabled children in 34 centres throughout the Kingdom of Bahrain.

On 15 May 2018, UK personnel attended a children’s fun day as part of the Bahrain for All charity year round activities, held at the Hidd Rehabilitation Centre in Bahrain. A total of 150BD was donated to the staff by UK personnel, raised through a 24 hour fitness event held at the newly opened UK Naval Support Facility in Bahrain. During the day, guests were treated to children performing a local dance whilst being refreshed with Arabic coffee with dates, and there were a number of fun activities for the children such as music, face painting and colouring stations. The event was also supported by local companies such as Maya Chocolates, who presented each child with a goodie bag, Tariq Pastries who distributed snacks and special BARE chocolate, and Little Caesars who served lunch and juice.

This was a fantastic opportunity to strengthen UK relations with the Bahrain local community, with organiser Ms Nivedita Dhadphale commenting: “We are delighted that members of the Bahrain based United Kingdom Maritime Component Command joined us on this visit before Ramadan and distributed gift bags and Bahrain for All Certificates. I am sure they are impressed with the high level of service and support offered to the special community in Bahrain and we look forward to them joining us on other visits in the future. During events, the children from the centres have an opportunity to form meaningful friendships, and better appreciate and understand individual differences, to prepare them for adult life in a diverse society.”
