In celebration of the holy month of Ramadan and in recognition of the ongoing support and efforts made by media members and digital influencers, VIVA Bahrain hosted its annual Ramadan Media Ghabga at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Bahrain. The event was attended by VIVA’s CEO, Eng. Ulaiyan Al Wetaid, the company’s senior management and representatives from Bahrain’s media organizations and social media influencers who have contributed to the growth and success of the company in the past seven years.

The evening – packed with fun, engaging activities – was highlighted by the introduction of a new long-term community-driven initiative led by VIVA’s Corporate Social Responsibility arm, VIVA Jusoor. Driven by the unfortunate insight that more than 10,000 meals are wasted daily in Bahrain on average, VIVA has partnered with “Conserving Bounties Society” to support the less fortunate and reduce food wastage.

The Bahrain-based group works by sourcing extra food from big feasts like weddings, restaurants and events to deliver it to the less fortunate. Assigned volunteers would attend the site for food quality assurance and pack what’s left of the fresh produce for immediate distribution to families in need. VIVA will also be hosting “Conserving Bounties Society” at its headquarters with a fully-equipped station of mini vans to receive and deliver food, full-time staff in addition to volunteers.

“We’re very humbled by the success of our Corporate Social Responsibility arm, VIVA Jusoor which was amplified by the media’s influential voice and their invaluable support in communicating our commitment towards the betterment of the society,” said VIVA’s CEO, Eng. Ulaiyan Al Wetaid. “Our partnership with ‘Conserving Bounties Society’ builds on our chain of positivity and aims to reach more community members each year.”
