VIVA Bahrain launches 5G with home broadband offerings

VIVA Bahrain, the Kingdom’s leading telecommunications provider has launched its home broadband 5G network through new add-on plans and 5G-enabled devices to support the next generation platform. Ushering in a new era of communications technologies that offers faster speed up to 1 Gbps, greater connectivity and lower latency, VIVA 5G promises a unified experience that’s more secure and set to transform the way we live and work.

Among the first telecom operators to launch the 5G network globally, VIVA Bahrain offers its 5G home broadband with state-of-the-art indoor and outdoor routers, providing an enhanced streaming & gaming experience. Customers can subscribe to the 5G network as an add-on on their home broadband package; activate this next-generation network with an indoor router for BD 10 per month or an outdoor router for BD 12.5 per month.

Speaking on the 5G launch, Eng. Nezar Banabeela, CEO of VIVA said, “Driving Bahrain’s digital telecommunications future with investments in revolutionary technologies and applications has been the forefront of VIVA Bahrain’s ICT services. The start of our 5G commercial journey is a milestone for us towards this direction as we pave the way for future connectivity and add it to the Kingdom’s leading 4G network. We’re really excited to embark on this new digital journey that holds incredible potential and ability to connect everything and enhance our customers’ lives with new experiences never imagined before.”

Catering to the growing demand for ultra-fast connectivity and enhanced service over the existing 4G network, by offering customers superior access to the IoT-enabled smart applications such as the virtual reality, augmented reality, robotics, cloud-gaming and much more, VIVA’s 5G network is set to optimize the overall digital experience for its customers.

VIVA Bahrain was the first operator in Bahrain to commercially pilot 5G back in June 2018 with a major showcase in Bahrain City Centre in the presence of His Excellency the Minister of Telecommunications and Transportation, the head of the TRA, and other key executives from the industry.
