The corporate social responsibility arm of VIVA Bahrain, VIVA Jusoor recently extended support to Bahrain Deaf Society with sponsorship of professional sign language skills course. The four-day training course hosted at VIVA Bahrain corporate headquarters, witnessed members of the society and local community fluent in sign language attending the workshop conducted by Dr. Mohammed Al-Ramzi, a sign language education and training consultant and Vice President of the Arab Organization for Sign Language Interpreters.
This initiative is in line with VIVA Jusoor’s aim to empower the local community and especially people with special needs and further build upon their capabilities while enabling them to be productive and independent members of the society.
Previously, VIVA Bahrain partnered with Bahrain Deaf Society to train their members in designing silver jewellery to help broaden their job horizons with technology support including laptops and internet connectivity provided during the course of the workshop.
